An accountant from Northampton who confessed deceiving superstars, including singer Rita Ora and rugby player matt Davison, out of more than three million pounds is now behind bars.
Andrew Munday, from Northamptonshire, used the money to buy luxury houses, watches. Also an executive lounge membership at Tottenham Hotspur football club. He previously pleaded guilty to six counts of fraud by abuse of position and three counts of money laundering.
The 38-year-old admitted using his position as an accountant at the now-defunct ‘Blue Cube Business’ in Northampton to steal £3.5 million over a period of seven years.
Simon Davis, prosecuting, said:
“Munday had rifled the bank accounts of those he had been entrusted to manage in order to spend the money on a lavish lifestyle, real estate and gambling.”

In a victim statement, the singer VV Brown said Munday had ‘ruined a lot of people’s lives’ and left ‘deep scars’ in relation to trust. Munday caused a loss to former X Factor judge Ora’s company of nearly £2.4m, the court heard. He also stole £1.08m from Decidedly Dawson Ltd, the company of former England scrum-half and Question of Sport captain Matt Dawson.

Authorities had previously declared Munday bankrupt after building up gambling debts.

“I realise the money has travelled electronically, that there is no pile of cash in a swag bag to photograph. The impact though is huge, the repercussions as yet unquantifiable. Mr Munday has caused a great deal of distress.”
They have recovered most of the money in the case. The investigation took just under three years of work.
